As Yiannis Karousos, mayor, Ayia Napa, highlighted in his recent speech, legislation passed by parliament on noise pollution has gaps which allow club owners to play music at loud volumes. 

According to Cyprus Tourism Organisation, the city is expected to welcome some 700,000 tourists this summer, thus the municipality needs to ensure that visitors are able to enjoy relaxing and tranquil vacation, leaving with the best memories from the island.
