The new Athens service is scheduled to be operated twice-weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, using an Airbus A320 aircraft that features a two-class business and economy arrangement.
The new route is expected to offer greater competition and choice to travellers to and from Greece.
Andrew Madar, CEO, Cobalt Air, commented, “We are delighted to have this opportunity to widen our footprint in European aviation and commence direct Athens to London services this month. Athens to Larnaca and Athens to Paphos are already a high density, popular routes for us and we are very excited to offer additional choice and attractive fares to the Greek travelling public with a direct service linking two prominent cities.”
The Athens – London Gatwick route will feature Cobalt’s newly developed business class product, featuring large bespoke business seats in a two-by-two configuration.
