Cobalt Air Enters Agreement with Etihad Airways

Larnaca-based Cobalt Air has entered into a strategic agreement with UAE flag carrier Etihad Airways towards linking Cyprus to the Middle East and beyond.

Cobalt Air anticipates that the agreement will provide the airline with multiple benefits and Cyprus’ economy in general as it widens passenger options and encourages tourism between Cyprus and the Middle East.

It also opens up over 100 new routes from Cyprus through Abu Dhabi. Passengers will, for example, be able to travel from Larnaca to Sydney, Australia through Abu Dhabi, checking-in their luggage in Cyprus and retrieving it in Australia.

At this time, reservations for Cobalt Air flights connecting with Etihad in Abu Dhabi can only be made through travel agencies. Cobalt began flying to Abu Dhabi in February.
