The achievement comes as Wizz Air continues to grow one of the youngest and most efficient fleets in the industry, now reaching 267 aircraft. This fleet expansion is enabling the airline to open new routes, increase frequencies on popular services and offer more choice to passengers during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.

The milestone also comes amid a busy summer travel season. IATA’s forecasts global passenger traffic growth of 2.1 percent for this year, with European passenger traffic expected to grow by 2.8 percent, supported by resilient leisure and visiting-friends-and-relatives demand closer to home. For the June–September summer period, Eurocontrol expects air traffic in the European network to grow by an average of two percent compared with summer 2025, with some weeks up to 5.1 percent higher and peak days approaching 37,000 flights.

This May, Wizz Air delivered great operational performance, achieving a 99.99 percent completion rate across its network, alongside strong punctuality with 82.67 percent of flights arriving within 15 minutes. For passengers, 1,200 flights in a single day means more than operational scale — it means thousands of individual journeys across Wizz Air’s extensive network that spans across several continents and almost 200 destinations. This summer, customers are flying to long-awaited holidays, family reunions, seaside breaks, festivals, football matches, business opportunities and active-lifestyle experiences.

On a single day, Wizz Air’s operation represents:
