Cyprus aviation traffic has declined by 91,6 percent compared to the same period in 2019, following the March 21 decree by the Ministry of Transport to close airports for 14 days due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Following a 3.6 percent improvement recorded in 2015, air traffic to and from the island rose 12 percent year-on-year in the first four months of the year. As Marios Demetriades, transport, communications and works minister, Cyprus, explained, over the past two years,
