The project has a total value of EUR2,887,258 plus VAT, and will be financed by the central government and the Municipality of Limassol at a rate of 80/20 respectively.
The construction works that will cover the wider area south and north of the Holy Temple of Panagia Chrysafiliotissa, include, among others, the paving of the central square, the improvement and landscaping of the facades of all adjacent listed houses, and the installation of modern electrical equipment. They also include asphalt paving and repairs of sidewalks, undergrounding of all utilities, creation of services that will attract and serve citizens, as well as measures of better traffic management of the wider area of Agia Fyla.
Construction is expected to begin within February, and will last around 20 months.
The project aims to give a new look in the centre of Agia Fyla, an area of special importance with the dozens of protected areas, and will create places of interest for the residents of the area and for the visitors.
