The Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC) welcomes the positions adopted by the Environment Committee (ENVI) of the European Parliament, on the revision of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) under the ‘Fit for 55’ legislative package and especially the role of the commercial operators and the creation of a Shipping sector dedicated fund.

The European Parliament’s Rapporteur on the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), MEP Peter Liese, on January 14, published a Report on the revision of the EU ETS, in the framework of the ‘Fit for 55’ legislative package for shipping.
