Artificial Reef Diving Event Held in Limassol

An artificial reef diving event was held at Limassol Marine Region, organised by the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research and the High School of Apostles Peter and Paul.

In order to create an additional productive artificial reef and to promote environmental awareness for the marine environment, divers and students from the Lyceum, studied, investigated and participated in the process of constructing a part of the artificial reef consisting mainly of amphorae and earthenware vases.

Kostas Kadis, minister, agriculture, rural development and the environment, and Kostas Hamiyouris, minister, education and culture, attended the event of the artificial reefs in the Limassol area.

The project is co-funded by the European Commission, from the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund 2014-2020, and by Cyprus.
