DP World Limassol has succeeded in securing an automobile transit deal, Limassol port’s first such business in two decades.

DP World welcomed the minister of transport, communications and works of the Republic of Cyprus, Alexis Vafeades and the shipping deputy minister to the president of the Republic of Cyprus, Marina Hadjimanolis, at its Dubai Headquarters on 25 and 26th of March 25-26.

DP World Limassol had one of its best years since taking over as operator in 2017. The company recorded an impressive performance in 2022, with Limassol port’s cruise business and cargo volumes growing significantly compared with 2021.

DP World Limassol and the Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK) signed a cooperation agreement on January 23 during a special ceremony held at the University premises in Limassol.

DP World Limassol has announce it has been accredited with Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status by the Customs & Excise Department, authorising the company for simpler and faster customs procedures as well ensuring the security and integrity of cargo throughout the supply chain.

This year’s cruise season kicked off for DP World Limassol, as ‘Jewel of the Seas’ and ‘Celestyal Olympia’ departed concurrently on their inaugural sailings from Limassol port on July 10.

Vassilios Demetriades, deputy minister of shipping, Cyprus, visited the Limassol port on September 14, where he received a tour of the premises of the multi-purpose port and cruise terminals.
