With the expectation of receiving more than five million tourists a year by 2030, the strategy focusses on the quality of Cyprus’ tourist product, the immediate implementation of infrastructure projects, and the improvement of tourist industry services.
It also places importance on increasing connectivity of Cyprus to other markets, promoting the benefits of tourist, and exploring alternative forms of tourism, among other topics.
In his concluding remarks, Kakkouras emphasised that this year's positive tourism performance should not create complacency and that tourism needs continuous vigilance and new initiatives.
