Cyprus is fully compliant with European directives managing the quality of its bathing waters.

A study by European Environment Agency (EEA) and European Commission, which assesses the cleanness of bathing waters across European Union (EU) countries, indicated that Cyprus holds the second position, after Luxembourg, regarding the cleanliness of its waters.
