Olympic Champion Chooses Paphos as Training Base

Norwegian Olympic cycling champion, Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå, has chosen Paphos as her training base to prepare for an upcoming international race in South Africa.

At a meeting and dinner held for Flesjå, the Olympic champion expressed her excitement about Paphos with its rich cycling routes, beautiful countryside, quality hotel accommodation and ideal weather conditions.

The international athlete is expected to remain on the island until February 18, after which she will depart to South Africa.

Pafos Regional Board of Tourism announced it is expecting to host more international sports stars for their preparation, by collaborating with event organisers and hoteliers.

This practice is expected help establish the region as a top sports tourism destination for high-level athletes.
