Cyprus-based applied arts and fine arts students have been invited to participate in a healthy living-themed creative communication competition.

An official Cyprus’ Press and Information Office (PIO) announcement reported that it had organised the contest along with seven local universities. The competition offers a cash prize of EUR1,000 to the first place winner, with second place winning EUR750 and third place EUR500.

According to the announcement, the main appraisal criteria will be originality and the degree of persuasiveness. Students will be required to transmit a message convincing people aged 15 – 35 to change their habits and/or their way of thinking and functioning to improve their physical and/or psychological health.

Only full-time graduate level or post graduate master’s level students from universities that have signed the relevant cooperation agreement with the PIO can participate.

The seven universities are; University of Cyprus, Open University of Cyprus, Cyprus University of Technology, University of Nicosia, European University Cyprus, Frederick University and UCLan Cyprus.

PIO added that the prize awarding ceremony was expected to be held this summer.
