The effort was organised by Limassol Tourism Development and Promotion Company on May 21–25, as part of the co-funded Civitas Destinations programme. Promoting viable urban mobility in a cleaner environment that is more accessible to the wider public, the campaign concentrates on designated pedestrian walkways, cycle paths, parks and tourist spots.
This contributes to the development of children’s environmentally-friendly behaviours and their familiarisation with hiking and cycling opportunities in the district. Limassol Tourism Board wants to establish different locations’ adoption by primary schools for the development and cultivation of pupils' environmental awareness and the promotion of health-related activities.
