CHA Supporting Greece Wildfire Victims

Cyprus Hotel Association (CHA) expressed its support for the victims of the recent deadly wildfires in Greece in a letter from Haris Loizides, president, CHA, to Elena Kountoura, minister, tourism, Greece.

In his letter, Loizides noted CHA’s board and members would be donating EUR100,000 towards helping those affected by the fires. The donation will be submitted through the Republic of Cyprus and the country’s Volunteering Commissioner.

In a circular to its members, CHA noted that it was a national responsibility for Cyprus’ professional bodies, as well as private individuals, to contribute as much as they were able.

Loizides has also expressed CHA’s solidarity with Greece in letters to the presidents of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels and Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises.
