Charitable programme Food from the Heart, founded by Stelios Haji-Ioannou, of the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, is constantly expanding its work.

Since its inception in 2013, it has been offering thousands of free snacks through 21 distribution points in Greece and Cyprus, to people who are in need.

The response remains high, underlining the need for actions that shape a better everyday life, amid the economic crisis.

Since the launch, the demand in Cyprus has fortunately been reduced, but for Greece there has been an increase in demand for the free snacks on offer.

According to Haji-Ioannou, "The best news would be a day, in the not too distant future, our fellow citizens no longer need us.

It would be a great joy, one day not to have people in our distribution points and end the programme.

But until then we will be there to help our fellow people in need, both in Greece and Cyprus."
