Larnaca Tourism Board (LTB) is participating in several projects of the Erasmus+ programme of the EU as part of its efforts to facilitate and improve the tourism industry and tourism experience.

A castle visit can be the perfect way to enjoy a day on vacation, regardless of age. 

Europe is home to hundreds of castles, attracting tourists from all over the world. But, which European city is the hot spot for castles? To find out, Ubuy has conducted research into the number of castles in major European cities – alongside calculating how many castles there are per 100,000 m2. 

The natural reef in Xylofagou seawaters has been newly named ‘Iris’ following a competition held within the framework of ‘European Maritime Day of Cyprus' and organised by CMMI - Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute and the Cyprus Ministry of Education in cooperation with the regional tourism boards.   

A second Larnaca region archaeological site has been virtually reconstructed under a cooperation between Larnaka Tourism Board (LTB) and the Youth Makerspace Larnaka branch of Youth Board of Cyprus (ONEK).

Upgrades at Larnaca's organised beaches are ongoing under the ‘Enriching and Greening Larnaka Beaches’ programme, with works carried out throughout the year to ensure that each new tourist season offers a complete beach experience. 

An exciting new landscape of hotels is set to grace the region during this year, as accommodation options continue to expand, from niche boutique establishments to globally branded resorts.

The upgrades and improvement made to the existing beach volley and beach tennis courts at Foinikoudes (Palm Tree) Beach have been completed.

On November 18, the event ‘The Sustainable Development of Coastal Areas’ took place in Larnaca.

The Larnaka Virtual Museums platform launched in 2021 has been expanded to include further museums, with an additional three museums now live, cementing this initiative that won Bronze at the Cyprus Tourism Awards 2021. 

The newly-launched ‘Larnaca Virtual Diving Routes’ have introduced and offer an interactive, digital way to experience some of Larnaca’s most popular dive sites – for divers preparing for an expedition, or non-divers wanting to enjoy a glimpse of the world beneath the waves.
