The THE World University Rankings (WUR) are possibly the best-known university rankings in the world. The expanded WUR 2021 edition includes over 1,500 ranked research-intensive universities, out of 25,000 universities globally, that met the THE eligibility criteria and applied for assessment.

The University of Nicosia now joins the University of Cyprus and the Cyprus University of Technology in this Top 1000 ranking. It is a tremendous testament to the superb development of the university field in Cyprus that the country has developed three of the best universities in the world (two public and one private) in less than 30 years.
