Cyprus Airways Supports Geneva Talks with Presidential Flights

A delegation of 65 politicians and journalists joined President Anastasiades on board a Cyprus Airways plane on April 26, as it departed for Geneva, and the airline returned the group on April 29, following the conclusion of the talks.

A pioneer in the Cypriot travel industry, Cyprus Airways is the national carrier brand, and is delighted to be able to support the 5+1 conference on Cyprus which took place in Geneva under UN aegis. Some of those who joined the president for this historic trip included the minister for foreign affairs, the attorney general, chief negotiator, leaders of all the main political parties in Cyprus,  the government spokesman, and other senior figures.

Despite COVID-19 impacting almost every national airline, Cyprus Airways has continued to fly uninterrupted and continues to provide essential services such as this historic flight in addition to schedule and charter flights alongside repatriation flights for Cypriot citizens.

George Mavrocostas, chief operating officer, Cyprus Airways, said, “As the national airline brand we are very proud to facilitate this delegation that is accompanying the president for these crucial negotiations that will impact on all our futures. While this is a historic flight, we hope that this will start an even more historic journey for Cyprus and its people.”
