Pafos Regional Board of Tourism has recently joined Culture and Heritage for Responsible, Innovative and Sustainable Tourism Actions (CHRISTA), a new European Union (EU) programme concerning cultural tourism.

Launched by Interreg Europe, EU’s framework for the implementation of joint actions and policy exchanges, the project aims to protect and preserve natural and cultural heritage assets while also promoting innovative, sustainable and responsible tourism strategies.

The first partner meeting will be held on June 14 — 16 in Venice, where participating countries will have the opportunity to learn about Venice’s best practices and discuss intangible cultural heritage, innovation and digitisation.

Funded by European Regional Development Fund, the budget for Paphos is estimated to reach EUR295,000.
