Aiming to raise public awareness on the crucial role of museums for cultural exchange, cooperation and peace among people the events will start on May 10 and will include a wide range of engaging activities including workshops, educational programmes for families and children, informal social discussions, guided tours and live music shows in Cypriot museum gardens.

In celebration of the International Museum Day and European Night of Museums, on May 18 and May 20, respectively, the Department of Antiquities, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, together with the Cyprus committee of the International Council of Museums have launched a programme of engaging events for the family, themed Museums and Contested Histories: Saying the Unspeakable in Museum.
