The April 12 happening was organised in cooperation with Russian Centre for the Revival of Traditions and three hospitality institutes operating in Altai, a Russian republic in southern Siberia; Astrakhan, a city in southern Russia; and the wider region of Moscow.
Students from the three institutes joined students of Higher Hotel Institute, Cyprus to prepare traditional Easter dishes from the two countries, which were then served to guests including Russian journalists who visited the island for the occasion.
Media outlets, including a television channel associated with the Russian Orthodox Church, Spas, covered the event. Visiting Russian journalists were also given a tour of Cyprus.
CTO also noted the event aimed to showcase the Christian Orthodox religion and traditions shared by Russia and Cyprus and featured addresses by Bishop Gregory of Mesaoria, and on behalf of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia.
