The work is part of wider efforts to improve Ayia Napa’s aesthetic and to upgrade central points throughout the town.
On May 23, Yiannis Karousos, mayor, Ayia Napa, along with Christos Zannettos, vice mayor, Ayia Napa, witnessed the final touch of the traffic island’s overhaul when an anchor was placed on top of it, representing Ayia Napa’s connection to the sea.
Karousos commented, “With the rebuilding of the traffic island and the placing of the anchor, we have managed to created another important landmark in our town and improve the aesthetics of another of its areas.”
The project’s design took into account the safety of both passing pedestrians and vehicles.
