In a recent statement, the Board stated its support to a protest scheduled for June 20 during which residents of Larnaca and Livadhia will from 19:00 march to the fuel storage site to demand the tanks’ speedy removal to a new, agreed on, site at Vasiliko.

Larnaka Tourism Board said it had also long supported the rehabilitation and sustainable development of the area where the storage units are currently situated.

The Board noted that the area’s development should no longer be caught up in red tape and lack of coordination between the government services involved in the process.
