The municipality’s cultural committee organised the festival on July 03, in Sotira’s Metamorfoseos tou Sotiros (Transformation of the Saviour) churchyard.

Entertainment included performances by singers Areti Ketime and Vassiliki Hadjiadamou, folk poets and local dance troupes. Meanwhile, booths showcased traditional professions and local dishes.

Photis Photiou, commissioner to the presidency, Cyprus, under whose auspices the festival took place, addressed the event. Photiou said festivals like this one were a great way to showcase tradition and culture to the younger generations.

Also addressing the event, Georgios Tsakkas, mayor, Sotira, noted his municipality had become a model of proper and careful governing where focus was put on increasing income and reducing waste.
