The memorandum was signed in the presence of Mayors and tourism  agencies of Alsace, as well as journalists. 

The memorandum states the commitment for close cooperation on issues of common interest between Cyprus and Alsace, such as wine routes, gastronomy, hiking and cycling tourism, rural tourism, Christian  Villages, colourful villages, the authenticity of the tourist product, etc.

On the occasion of the signing of the memorandum, Perdios referred to the importance of this cooperation and informed about the actions taken in Cyprus to enrich and upgrade the tourism product of our country, with particular emphasis on the development of special forms of tourism and the promotion of quality labels.

It is noted that the memorandum is particularly important because, in addition to its essential provisions, it is also the first agreement of its kind made with a European state on the part of the Alsace Tourism Organisation.
