In line with the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment’s endeavours supporting efficient waste management practices at municipalities, Ayia Napa aims to reduce waste at seaside hotel establishments by 50 percent.

To help create a more sustainable future, the community also looks to increase recycling by 50 percent.

According to Yiannis Karousos, mayor, Ayia Napa, the coastal town is determined to further improve its tourist product and become an eco-destination which can then claim the European Green Capital title in 2020.
