Focusing on how shared forms of transport can reduce expenses and lower carbon footprint while making journeys more sociable, this year’s EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK will be celebrated under the theme clean, shared and intelligent mobility, using the call-to-action sharing gets you further. Socrates Famelos, environment and energy minister, Greece, opened the meeting and highlighted the role of cities that first invested in the development of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans.
Participation in the event has remarkably increased in Greece over the past years, growing from only eight municipalities in 2013 to 86 in 2016.
