First Paphos High-level Workshop in Security and Intelligence Studies

Neapolis University Paphos in Cyprus, and the Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies at the University of Buckingham in the UK (BUCSIS) in partnership with UNESCO Chair on Threats to Cultural Heritage and Cultural Heritage-Related activities, Ionian University in Greece, will be co-organising an intensive workshop in Security and Intelligence studies  from April 15 to April 17.

The workshop will take place at the premises of Neapolis University in Paphos, Cyprus. Three days (April 15–17) of lectures by international experts and discussions with participants will provide a unique opportunity to become familiar with, and reflect on, contemporary security and intelligence in the Eastern Mediterranean and Europe.

Our aim is to bring together experts undertaking cutting edge research across all relevant domains in an effort to better understand the broader security and intelligence environment in which these challenges evolve with a view towards enhancing conceptual clarity and improving the analytical capacity of workshop’s participants.

Workshop instructors combine the best of the policy and the academia world, with high-calibre experts specialising in open and closed source analysis, geopolitics, terrorism, radicalization, hybrid warfare, disinformation, civil protection and other sub-fields of the broader disciplines of security and intelligence studies. The relatively small number of attendees will enable participants to discuss in depth with present academics and practitioners, offering robust networking opportunities.

The workshop is entirely conducted in English. Upon completion, students will receive a certificate of attendance from the organisers.

The programme is open to advanced university students (both graduate and undergraduate) as well as professionals engaged in the broad fields of security, intelligence and diplomacy.
