The lionfish removal training is part of the RELIONMED programme and lasted for 1.5 hours.

Initially, a general update was made on the spread of lionfish in Cyprus and the threat to the Mediterranean marine ecosystem. It was also followed by a presentation of the special equipment and training in its use.

Finally, the training was completed with information on the potential hazards and practices to be applied to avoid accidents.
