The funds raised from the five-day, 700km cycling route were handed over to Karaiskakio Foundation, a non-profit organisation serving the needs of patients with hematological malignancies. During the competition, individuals aged 18 – 45 were also able to register as volunteers of bone marrow donors.
Acknowledging the social role that sport has to play, CSO launched the course in an effort to send the message that sport is an important tool for caring for the community.
