GSNG and CSO Host Sports and Nutrition Event

General Staff of Cyprus’ National Guard (GSNG), in cooperation with Cyprus Sports Organisation (CSO), organised a Sports and Nutrition event with the theme Proper Sport and Proper Nutrition for a Healthy, Strong Army.

On April 30 in the Cultural Foundation of the Holy Metropolis of Kykkos, a meeting was held in the framework of GSNG’s military staffing activities for April, which has been designated as the Month of Life and Healthy Body. The meeting was inaugurated by Elias Leontaris, lieutenant-general, Hellenic Police Force, while Dimitris Leontis, vice-president, CSO, addressed the greetings on behalf of CMO. More than 400 people attended the workshop which included soldiers and trainers of the programme Sports at the Hellenic Football Federation.

Additionally, Centre for Sport Research of Cyprus was a supporter of the conference and presented scientific lectures on topics such as Physical Situation, Health and Robustness of the Opples, Running as a Form of Social Sport and Using Dietary Supplements in Recreational Sports.

The workshop also referred to the Exercise in Security Bodies programme, aimed at people working in security services, such as the army, police, fire and civil defence. The sports programmes are under the supervision of specialised gymnasts in Nicosia, Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos.
