From Austria to Vietnam, 32 destinations from all around the world have been named as ‘Best Tourism Villages 2022’ by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Guidelines for woman empowerment published by the World Tourism organization (UNWTO) were developed with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Development (BMZ), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and UN Women. They aim to ensure an inclusive and resilient recovery from the impacts of the pandemic.

The first of this year’s issue of the UNWTO World Tourism Barometer indicates that rising rates of vaccination, combined with easing of travel restrictions due to increased cross-border coordination and protocols, have all helped release pent up demand.

A teleconference of delegations of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), headed by its Zhu Shanzhong, executive director, and Savva Perdios, deputy minister of tyourism, Cyprus, took place on February 22.  The ambassador of Cyprus to Spain, Elena Mina, also participated in the teleconference.

The UNWTO Conference on City Breaks: Creating Innovative Tourism Experiences took place in Valladolid, Spain, on October 15 –16 with a call for cities to become smart tourism destinations, where tourism governance and the digital economy mesh together to offer travellers diverse and authentic experiences.
