Ayia Napa Officials Discuss Environmental Issues

Following a meeting held February 01 at the town hall of Ayia Napa, members of the Ecologists United Citizens Movement in cooperation with John Karoussos, mayor, Ayia Napa, along other members of the Ayia Napa City Council, discussed environmental issues and other problems being faced by the region.

Attendees at the conference included; George Perdikis, president, Ecologists United Citizens Movement, Michael Paraschos, executive secretary, Ecologists United Citizens Movement and numerous members of the District Committee and City Council of Ayia Napa.

Themes mentioned by the committee included issues such as waste management, welfare and protection of animal rights, the expansion of greenery, management of shop licenses and future restoration projects.

Karoussos also informed the delegation about the work regarding construction of the Environmental Centre at the marina, with the inauguration set to take place in April, 2018.
