Organised for the third consecutive year by Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) the seminar welcomed a high participation of police members, local authorities, tourism stakeholders as well as lifeguards and travel agents.

Xenia Loizidou, board member, CTO, who coordinated the conference, confirmed CTO’s commitment to continuously contributing to the effective work of police.

Among other issues the platform focused on problems arising from excessive alcohol consumption as well as the safety of the swimmers. Measures towards the avoidance of road accidents during the summer season were also discussed.

In 2016, one of the biggest successes of the platform was the extension of lifeguard’s working hours.
