20th World Conference of Overseas Cypriots Hosted

With the participation of delegates from all over the world, the main part of the deliberations of the 20th World Conference of Overseas Cypriots by the World Federation of Overseas Cypriots (POMAK), the International Coordinating Committee ‘Justice for Cyprus’ (PSEKA) and the Youth of the World Federation of Overseas Cypriots (NEPOMAK) hosted in Cyprus, began on August 28, at Filoxenia Conference Centre, in Nicosia.

The deliberations of the 20th were declared, on the first night by Nicos Anastasiades, president, Republic of Cyprus, at Filoxenia Conference Centre, in Nicosia.

On the first day, delegates were briefed, in a closed session, by Nikos Christodoulides, minister of foreign affairs, Republic of Cyprus, on the country’s foreign policy and on the latest news concerning the Cyprus problem.

A meeting of the Central Committee was afterwards held, chaired by Andreas Papaevripides, president, POMAK, during which a financial and an activity review was performed through the audit committee report.

The delegates had then the opportunity to participate in discussions with leaders and representatives of political parties about various issues and especially about the Cyprus problem.

In the afternoon, a presentation of the guide for Cyprus Diaspora and Repatriates and investment opportunities in Cyprus took place in the framework of the Conference.
