Melco Cyprus, operator of Cyprus Casinos (C2) and the upcoming integrated resort (IR) City of Dreams Mediterranean, organised an underwater clean-up of Ayia Napa Harbour on June 19 in efforts to reduce marine litter and raise awareness about the impact of pollution on the Mediterranean Sea’s ecosystem.

The recent opening ceremony of Ayia Napa Marina took place on June 21 and was held by the president of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, who expressed his admiration for the project, while his presence highlighted the importance of the project for the local community, the economy, and beyond. The inauguration took place under the auspices of the Ayia Napa Marina CEO, Stavros Caramondanis, and Ayia Napa Marina chairman, Naguib Sawiris, in the presence of distinguished guests.

In a special event held on May 30 in the village of Vouni, in the presence of  Savvas Perdiou, deputy minister of tourism, Cyprus, as well as local authorities, tourism agencies and other officials,  the  first communities that secured the certification of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism ‘Colourful Villages’ (Coloured Villages of Cyprus) were awarded.
