Athienou Municipality and Kallinikeio Municipal Museum of Athienou celebrated the inclusion of two new elements in UNESCO’s National Catalogue of Intangible Cultural Heritage 2018; The tradition of bakery in Athienou and The festival of Saint Phokas at Athienou.
Sincere gratitude was expressed by the Municipality to UNESCO National Committee and the island’s Ministry of Education and Culture for their cooperation and recognition.
The Municipality and Museum jointly aim to continue their efforts for the preservation, promotion and enhancement of Athienou’s cultural heritage, according to an official announcement.
