Successful Ayia Napa Voluntary Blood Donation

Ayia Napa Municipality announced that its 34th Annual Voluntary Blood Donation was a success.

Agia Napa locals, aged between 18 – 65, responded to Municipality’s call and offered their blood with great willingness, strengthening Famagusta General Hospital’s blood bank reserves. Participants that offered blood are entitled to take a free blood test each year for their own personal health.

In proportion to its population, Cyprus is ranked first among the European countries for volunteer blood donations, according to the Commissioner for Volunteerism and NGOs. According to the Commissioner, there are over 20,000 regular volunteer blood donors on the island, with Cyprus also being able to cover its blood needs with 100 percent voluntary donations.
