The couple was awarded a commemorative plaque and named tourism ambassadors of Ayia Napa.

Addressing the Barratts, Yiannis Karousos, mayor, Ayia Napa, thanked them for selecting Ayia Napa for their many visits.

“The love you have shown for our town is an example to be followed since it is being promoted overseas as a very worthy destination and so we, aside from awarding you, also welcome you to the great family of the friends of Ayia Napa,” Karousos said.

Ayia Napa Municipality regularly honours overseas visitors who have repeatedly selected spending their holidays in the seaside town.
