Archaeological Sites to Open Under the Full Moon

The archaeological sites of Kourion, Ayios Georgios Peyeias and Ancient Idalion will for the first time be opened to the public on the night of August 26, when there will be a full moon.

According to the Department of Antiquities, the sites will be opened between 19:30 and 23:00 and entrance will be free.

An event will be organised at the archaeological site of Ancient Idalion at 20:30 with the participation of an actor and a musician, who will read texts relating to the ancient and modern Idalion, accompanied by a violin.

This 40-minute event is organised in collaboration with the Phivos Stavrides Foundation Larnaka Archives.

A music concert will also take place at the archaeological site of Ayios Georgios Peyeias, under the direction of composer Sotiris Karageorghis, in collaboration with the Municipality of Peyia.
