In Cyprus, this global action represents the Together Cyprus Volunteer Network, organised under the auspices of Ioanna Panagiotou, environment commissioner, cleaning the area around the Klima Dam on September 16.

Supporters of the action are mountain-area communities which include Klirou, Arediou, Ayios Ioannis, Malounta, Kalo Chorio, Agrokipia, Ayios Epifaneos, Mitsero, Chou, Pharmakas, Kambi, Lazanias, Fikardou, the Department of Forests and the Department of the Environment.

In general, 150 countries including Cyprus are to participate in the World Cleanup Day 2018.
