Andreas Louroutziatis, mayor, Larnaca and Yiannakis Yiannaki, volunteerism commissioner, Cyprus, joined students from the city's various educational institutions to collect rubbish and clean up Spyros Beach.

Louroutziatis commented, "The participation and volunteering of young people in activities of the municipality, but also in the wider area, is a very hopeful sign for our future, especially owing to these young active citizens."
