In an effort to raise awareness of the Colony Collapse Disorder, whereby seemingly healthy bees abandon their hives en masse, Columbia Beach Resort treated guests to a small information booklet about the importance of the insects to the food supply.

Inviting them to get involved in a positive action, the team also handed out packs of helianthus seeds.

Labelled Bee-lieve, the initiative encouraged travellers to read about the irreplaceable work honey bees do and ask them to plant the seeds in their gardens.
