Savvas Perdios , deputy minister of tourism, Cyprus, has had meetings in Lebanon and Jordan and will also visit Greece, Egypt and Israel aiming to reach an agreement on the creation of common tourism packages.

In the context of the meetings, Perdios submitted specific proposals aiming to reach agreement for common thematic routes.

On the basis of the results of the Cyprus passengers survey, arrivals of tourists reached 434,578 in May compared to 450,495 in May 2018, recording a decrease of 3,5 percent.

On the basis of the results of the Cyprus Passenger Survey, revenue from tourism reached EUR52,4 million in February compared to EUR52,7 million in the corresponding month of 2018, recording a decrease of 0,6 percent.

Taxidi, a Cyprus travel and tourism exhibition was held from May 03 - 05 at the Cyprus State Fair.

The inauguration of the exhibition was co-authored by Savvas Perdios, deputy minister of tourism, and Ioannis Goulis, deputy secretary general, Greek National Tourism Organization.

Around 8,500 Cypriots and foreigners visited the exhibition and were informed by the various exhibitors about the opportunities and packages that are on offer them for their summer vacations and travel in general.

Visitors also had the opportunity to participate in competitions organised by the exhibitors as well as to taste delicious dishes from the exhibition stands.
