Cyprus Deputy Department of Tourism Commemorated World Tourism Day

September 27 of each year has been established as World Tourism Day, reminding everyone of the size and importance of the tourism sector not only economically but also at a cultural, social and political level.

For Cyprus, the tourism sector is one of the main pillars of the economy and a vehicle for growth, prosperity and prosperity for the country.

Wanting to commemorate the day, the Deputy Ministry of Tourism organised educational trips for its staff. Specifically, from September 23-26, visits were made to Troodos, Mount Larnaca and Kalopanayiotis for information on environmental issues, cultural heritage etc. The excursions were carried out in cooperation with the Terra Cypria Foundation.

Along with the above events, on September 27, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials made presentations on the importance of the tourism sector to a number of elementary schools.
