As a signatory of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, CSTI endorses the common vision to address the root causes of plastic pollution.

CSTI commits to eliminate the plastic items that are not needed; innovate so all plastics not needed that are designed to be safely reused, recycled, or composted; and circulate everything that is used to keep it in the economy and out of the environment.

CSTI has committed to: 

Encouraging its member hotels and other tourism enterprises to join the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative and build synergies with initiatives such as the «Keep our Sand and Sea Plastic Free », « BeMed » and « Plastic Waste Free Islands »

 Advising and communicating successes to member hotels and tourism enterprises by sharing information on their upcoming workshops, seminars and awareness campaigns addressing plastic pollution; reporting annually on progress.
