Tickets Given in Larnaka Tourism Board and Cyprus Airways Online Competition

The online competition of Larnaka Tourism Board and Cyprus Airways for a prize draw of five airline tickets was successfully completed, marking the airline’s five successful years of operation at Larnaka International Airport, and also providing the tourism board with the opportunity to highlight its advantageous characteristic of combining traditional and authentic areas and attractions with the modern, vibrant face of the city.

The Facebook competition, which ran from June 15 – June 30, offered the prize of airline tickets to any of Cyprus Airway’s 12 destinations. The winners are: Christina Jensen Bech from Denmark and Eleni Panayiotou from Cyprus, who each won two Cyprus Airways tickets to the destination of their choice, and Kakia Tsiola from Cyprus, who won one Cyprus Airways ticket to the destination of her choice. The winners were picked via a random draw.

The competition asked participants to name their favourite spot in Larnaca region (old or contemporary), among other actions, with the most popular spots emerging as the Foinikoudes (Palm Tree) promenade, Larnaka Salt Lake and its migrating flamingos, Mckenzie Beach, the old city streets, the Kamares aqueduct, Saint Lazarus Church and square, the Medieval Castle (Fort) and Piale Pasha coastal walkway.

Winners of the double tickets, Eleni Panayiotou and Christina Jensen Bech both chose the popular Foinikoudes (Palm Tree) beach strip as their favourite spot, with Christina balancing this modern crowd-drawer with the ancient Saint Lazarus Byzantine church that houses the patron saint’s relics and sits in its own charming square.

The competition was run as a joint action between Larnaka Tourism Board and Cyprus Airways as part of the close cooperation between the two.
