At the opening ceremony, Natalie Jaarsma, ambassador, Netherlands, stressed that these events had marked the history of the human race and emphasised that the revival of Nazism and Fascism, should never happen again.

Commenting on the inauguration of the exhibition, Yiannis Karousos, mayor, Ayia Napa, said that this educational exhibition reveals the history of Anne Frank and the Holocaust of the Jews and urges visitors to reflect on issues of general concern such as nationality, prejudice and discrimination.
