For this year's programme of the Department of Contemporary Culture, a total of 40 productions (2025: 22 productions) secured sponsorship with a total funding amount of EUR461,080, recording an increase of 62 percent compared to the 2025 CDP.

The programme, which starts immediately, aspires to bring quality cultural activities to the communities of the Cypriot countryside, highlighting domestic artistic creation in all its manifestations. The programme is governed by the principle of competitiveness and is implemented within the framework of the available financial resources of the Deputy Ministry of Culture.

The strategic objective of the programme is to support and promote both established Cypriot artists and young, talented creators. This year's event is enriched with new activities, such as interactive workshops and thematic walks, enhancing the participatory and inclusive nature of the institution. At the same time, within the framework of this year's program, for the first time, the possibility of funding measures that promote accessibility and inclusion, such as the provision of interpretation and the creation of appropriate infrastructure for people with disabilities, was given.

The response from artists to this year's call was encouragingly high, which demonstrates the continuing dynamic of the contemporary cultural field and the desire for a creative presence in the region. A total of 80 applications were submitted for this year's program, of which two were from community councils, 25 from organisations and 53 from individuals.
